With over 15 years of experience in risk assessment and corporate strategy, he has built VC into a trusted partner for multinational corporations, governments, and investors navigating the region's complex business landscape. Under his leadership, our firm has expanded its footprint with offices in Thailand, Cambodia, and Hong Kong, while maintaining a robust network of industry experts and policymakers.
Prior to founding VC, Frank served as a Senior Consultant at Control Risks, where he advised Fortune 500 companies on political and operational risks in emerging markets. Earlier in his career, he was Head of Market Intelligence at Temasek Holdings, developing proprietary methodologies for market entry strategies. Frank holds an MA in International Relations from Nanyang Technological University, where he focused on ASEAN geopolitics, and an MBA from INSEAD with a specialization in strategic management. His thought leadership is regularly featured in regional business publications and policy forums.

Michael Massaro is the Partner of VC, where he leads geopolitical and economic trade analysis, providing strategic insights to guide investments and advising portfolio companies on cross-border risks and opportunities. His expertise spans industry consulting, market entry strategies, and regulatory risk assessment.
Previously, Massaro worked at leading research and advisory firms, including Control Risks, where he conducted in-depth investigations and geopolitical risk analysis for global clients. His background in investigative consulting strengthens his ability to navigate complex market and policy challenges.
He holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Michigan.

A former Partner at WongPartnership LLP, James has over 12 years of experience advising multinational corporations on corporate governance, dispute resolution, and regulatory frameworks in emerging markets. His practice focused particularly on helping technology and financial services clients establish compliant operations across ASEAN. James earned his LLM in International Commercial Law from the National University of Singapore, where he graduated with honors, and a JD from the University of Hong Kong. He is admitted to practice in Singapore and Hong Kong and maintains active memberships in several international legal associations.
